This has already lead to a privatization of healthcare insurance and semi-privatization of hospitals and clinics. Insurance costs have doubled, and tripled for those who need extra care. Call me an old commie, but when it comes to healthcare I don't think capitalism should play any part, as it only hurts those who are already suffering. Nobody chooses to get ill, nobody wants to go into surgery. Next thing you'll have to pay firefighters to save your home, or police to catch someone who robbed you. Yeah, keep on dreaming about sane government. Although a multi-party system is certainly preferable, it’s still filled with politicians. There’s your problem!

My personal belief is that a person should vote for a party that is closest to their values, it’s just a pity that voting in such a way won’t do a lot of good. That's especially interesting when trying to `buy green' (e.g., try to cause as little waste as possible). An interesting project in that regard was done by a BBC journalist at http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/monthwithoutplastic/ Also, packaged plastic food tends to stay well longer for a considerable time.
